Brian is in the process of building a CB 750 using some of my parts, and sent me a photo of his bike. I asked him about the unusual exhaust system and he sent the following reply and additional pix.
Ken,
I started out with a Kerker. I don't know who told them that a 1.625" primary
tubes would work on a 184cc cylinder, so I sent it back & they refunded my
money, and scrapped all the stock. The primary tubes would not go into the
receiver bore in the head, they were so large. Then I bought a Yosh knock off and that was some of the worst pipe fabrication that I have ever
seen. So I cut off the primary pipes at the collector and fabricated the rest of
the system. All the pipes are within 1/2" in length, and the secondary is
correctly sized for the primarys. I am also installing drilled dual disks. I'm
an ex AMA Superbike & NASCAR engine builder, so this is not my first project.
I've been riding and building race bikes for 30 years. That makes me an old
fart.
